The career of an entrepreneur can be a hugely rewarding and satisfying one.
However, launching and running a business can be as stressful as it is exciting. Wellbeing in the workplace is becoming an increasingly prominent issue with work work-related stress said to be especially common amongst entrepreneurs.
According to a report by public body, The Health and Safety Executive, 488,000 people in the UK reported work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2015/16.
In 2015/16 stress accounted for 37% of all work related ill health cases and 45% of all working days lost due to ill health.
Pauline Moran, Launch22 mentor explains that the symptoms of stress are very individual but can include; headache, muscle tension or pain, chest pain, fatigue, stomach upset and sleep problems.
When poorly managed, experts say stress can lead to a variety of health issues such as sleep deprivation, weight gain and even a weakened immune system. Although stress is not considered an illness in its self, it can also lead to psychological problems, including stress, anxiety and depression
While stress amongst adults can be fairly common and normal in small doses- it begins to become a serious issue when it regularly occurs. When stress becomes common, action must be taken.
As with symptoms, successful methods of dealing with stress vary from individual to individual.

Entrepreneurs should not be afraid of taking time away from work and relaxing. Getting enough sleep is also a big factor mentioned by many online sources including the NHS.
