There can sometimes be a lot of speculation around becoming an intern, will it simply be a case of making excessive cups of coffee or running errands? Thankfully when I started my Content Marketing Internship here at Launch22 in Liverpool, it was far from this misconception.

I graduated from the University of Chester three years ago with a degree in English and Theology, and after a few years of hospitality and admin work, I decided that I wanted to do something more creative. I knew I wouldn’t have enough experience to walk into a full-time marketing job and decided that an internship was undoubtedly the best way that I would get the experience that I needed.

The first week of any job is always the hardest! However, the team at Launch22 were so welcoming, as were the members in the office, making my first week as the New Girl not as daunting as I thought it would be!

I have only been at Launch for three weeks and I have already learnt so much, from working on social media to website design. I have managed social media accounts before, but never had the opportunity to learn the analytics behind the posts. Over the forthcoming weeks I plan to start a podcast and interview guests which I’m really excited about. This internship is all about creating new ideas, and helping me to gain more experience that I can bring to my next job, and already I can see how my CV can be filled out a bit more!

Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to meet the members and other businesses outside the office at events. It has been a great way to make new contacts and network with other businesses, as well as making new friends. Outside of work I enjoy writing blogs, so getting the chance to do this in the office has been a dream!

The office itself has a great atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and the best thing of all (as well as unlimited tea and coffee)? THERE’S A DOG HERE.

Have I experienced any classic intern moments? I think in my first week when I had to run across Liverpool when it was a million degrees to get boxes of wine for an event was the moment when I thought: “Yep! This is definitely my intern moment!”

I’m really looking forward to see what the next few weeks bring here at Launch22, as more events are put on and as more projects take off I can really see my creative and writing abilities being put to the test!
