1) Inspiring Environment
“The layout of the hub inspires everyone who comes in. I love the open plan working area, huge windows and chill out area.” — Ray Carr, Terrapin Global Shipping Recruitment
Our space, with its large central desk structure and breakout areas, plays a huge role in creating a collaborative environment. Our members particularly enjoy the ability to take a break and play ping-pong or table football which helps develop the sense of community.
“One of the main attractions is that it’s a workspace offering the flexibility that we need whilst we get the business off the ground. When my partner and I started Thornton Legal early this year we wanted an affordable base where we could focus on growing the business, but also welcome clients and meet new people. Launch22 offers the perfect environment for this and we’re proud to be part of the community” — Nick Tappin, Thornton Legal
Flexibility is really important to start-ups, particularly in terms of working hours and contracts. All memberships are month by month rolling agreements meaning members can change or cancel their membership at any time.
“You meet people with a various sets of skills that can come in handy. I like the synergy of the place, there are always opportunities to meet new people and collaborate” — James M. Steward, Zero Infinity Ventures
Our community is really important to us and members see the space as much more than just somewhere to work. Isolation is a key reason why many start-ups fail and spaces like Launch22 offer the feeling of being part of something with the flexibility to work on your own project. Members are surrounded by talented and like-minded people, all of which have and share their own unique experiences. It is great to see members collaborate and finding ways to work together.
“The pricing is great, particularly considering the quality of the space and the fact that we’re right in the heart of commercial district” — Rob Orourke, Human Made Limited
Launch22 is a charity providing affordable workspace for entrepreneurs from all backgrounds. Our incubators are award winning, and the Liverpool space has been voted one of the top 5 workspaces in the country, as well as one of the most inspiring places in the north. We are open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and members are able to use the space as and when they want. We have a variety of memberships available to suit whatever stage your business is at including part time which offers 10 days per month, full time, and dedicated desk spaces.
“It is incredibly useful having experienced entrepreneurs available to ask for support and advice. I have found that it doesn’t matter whether the mentor is from the same sector as you, a different perspective can be equally as important.” — Sean Keane, The Online Marketing Co.
Our mentors are experienced entrepreneurs volunteering their time to assist aspiring entrepreneurs. We are constantly working with our mentors, as well as recruiting new volunteers, to ensure we are offering our members relevant support. We have mentors that regularly work from the space as an ‘entrepreneur in residence’ and are available to members without an appointment, as well as others who run clinics and drop in sessions on their specific area of expertise.
“I feel so much more relaxed having him [Karo] here as I work long hours and my day is often unpredictable. It makes me feel calmer and he certainly loves all of the attention!” — Tony Edwards, NES Roofing and Energy
We’re pet friendly here Launch22 and our members love the fact that they can bring their dogs into work. Multiple studies show people are much happier when they can bring their pets to work, compared to an increase in stress levels when leaving them at home. Indeed, a recent survey by Purina shows that 47 percent of 18–24 year olds view pet friendly work environments as a perk.
7) This Gigantic Bear
“That’s amazing” — Everyone
After reaching a goal of 120 retweets with “share the bear” our manager Matt came back from his meeting surprised, amused, and slightly regretting the fact he’d made this deal, because now he had to buy it. Thank you to Thornton Legal who contributed. Now we’re trying to track down a giant t-shirt…
